SOLAR TODAY was recognized with a first-place Gold EXCEL Award for publication excellence. SOLAR TODAY is the official publication of the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society.
The award was presented Thursday during a gala celebration in Washington DC by the Society of National Association Publications. The EXCEL Awards honor and represent the best publishing products of the association industry. The program judges nearly 1,000 publications.
The award, for Chuck Kutscher’s editorial “Tackling Climate Change: The Debate Is Over! (Or Is It?)” in the January/February 2009 issue, is SOLAR TODAY’s second Gold EXCEL in three years. In 2007, the magazine won the Gold award for its July/August 2006 theme issue “Confronting the Climate Change Crisis.” Kutscher wrote the keynote article for that issue, too.
Kutscher is a principal engineer and manager of the Thermal Systems Group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and a past chair of the American Solar Energy Society. He edited the 2007 ASES report “Tackling Climate Change in the U.S.” His column “Tackling Climate Change” appears in each issue of SOLAR TODAY.
SOLAR TODAY is published nine times a year. For more information see solartoday.org. To learn more about the EXCEL Awards visit snaponline.org.
